Palazzo Bembo, Venezia

Nierderlauterbach.- As an official part of the next Biennale di Venezia, The Palazzo Bembo will inaugurate an exhibition entitled PERSONAL STRUCTURES curated by Sarah Gold and Karling de Jong from the Global Art Affairs Foundation to open on Saturday, June 1st through Sunday, November 24th, 2013.

Each artist in the exhibition presents recent artworks, either site-specific, especially made for this exhibition, or coming directly from the artist's studio.

Several rooms in the Palazzo Bembo are dedicated to one single artist and some rooms are presenting 2 or 3 artists. Their strong statements give each of the rooms a very specific atmosphere. The exhibition features a broad variety of artistic media, such as: videos, sculptures, paintings, photos, installations with light, wallpaper and performance.

Since the participating artists originate from diverse cultures and are of very different age, Time - Space and Existence are highlighted from unusual points of view.

The exhibition PERSONAL STRUCTURES is part of an international art project.

It was initiated in 2002 by the Dutch artist Rene Rietmeyer, who noticed that even in the most distant corners of the world, there are artists working with Time - Space and Existence, thereby expressing themselves in a very personal way. This observation led to the idea of bringing several of these artists together in publications, exhibitions and symposia.

PERSONAL STRUCTURES will present 28 artists from 12 countries and 5 continents such as:

Yoko Ono (Japon), Toshikatsu Endo (Japon), Carole A. Feuerman (USA), Gotthard Graubner (Alemania), Sam Jinks (Australia), Heinz Mack (Alemania), Atelier Morales (Cuba), Hermann Nitsch (Austria), Roman Opalka (Francia), Otto Piene (Alemania), Stefanus Rademeyer (Sudafrica), Arnulf Rainer (Austria), Suh Jeong Min (Corea del Sur), Günther Uecker (Alemania), VALIE EXPORT (Austria), Ben Vautier (Francia), André Wagner (Alemania)  Christopher H. Martin (USA) David Middlebrook (USA) Djawid Borower (Alemania) Per Hess (Noruega) Nicola Rae ( Inglaterra) Lee Ufan (Corea del Sur), Tatsuo Miyajima (Japon) Scott Eady (Nueva Zelanda), Yifat Bezalel (Israel), Faiza Butt (Pakistan) and Christian Meger (Suiza).

A 200-pages exhibition catalogue, as well as a 448-pages book about the project, PERSONAL STRUCTURES, containing the thoughts of several of the exhibiting artists, will be available for purchase.
