Madrid.- Closing tomorrow at one of Madrid's most precious natural landmarks, is the thirty-year retrospective exhibition by Dutch artist Alwin Van der Linde at the Centro Cultural Casa de Vacas del Parque del Retiro.

Born in The Hague and based in Madrid, Van der Linde, 57, is an established artist who has given a spiritual content to the traditional realism in his works with a particular aesthetic that reflects an investigation into the invisible.

For him, the goal of this conceptual realism is to develop new perspectives or insights within the figuration looking into ways to communicate his fascination in observing nature through his stunning and delicate paintings and drawings.

"I am convinced that art retains time," says Van der Linde,  and interpreting reality and its perception is the result of a long tradition which imposes challenges to create new forms in the appreciation of beauty.

Evidently, Van der Linde's works retain time and from that inherent silence, he expresses reality which comes from his dreams using symbols, colors, composition and cultural references that create an emotional state and theme.

"The theme of each painting is the painting itself," he says, "in my effort to discover the mysteries of life conveying its complexity and trying to showcase the structure of what is invisible," Van der Linde continues to retain time through his works bringing a new stage of cultural expression to be enjoyed by humanity at large.
