This coming Saturday May 4th, 2013 from 6 to 10PM, the ACND Gallery of Art will inaugurate “E-KleK-TiK” an IPC Visual Lab photography exhibition (On view through May 31st) with 80 works by professional photojournalists, IPC Visual Lab instructors and their students.
There are three participating Miami Herald’s staff photographers in the exhibition, Carl P. Juste, C.W. Griffin, and Charles Trainor Jr. who along Andrew Kaufman and IPC advanced students Rubyann Smith Hernandez, Jenny Babot Romney, Nanci Thomas, Zeus Shama, Jennifer Kay and Ethan Britton will be exhibiting at the Archbishop Curley Notre Dame Gallery on NE 2nd Avenue.
The idea of the exhibition comes from Carl P. Juste, the founder of the IPC Visual Lab who was looking to showcase a collection of the universal aesthetic that is essentially varied and dynamic as Miami’s own diverse community.
“I pulled several examples from my collective Havana Haiti and asked some of my instructors to submit some work and I felt it was important to have my students work too,” said Carl P. Juste, the curator of the show.
Juste says that Associated Press writer Jennifer Kay, an IPC student is succeeding in grasping some of the elements of the visual language in her work.
“The IPC student works will face their instructors work giving them a visual connection of where they are and where they can be,” added Juste.
The ACND Gallery is located at 4949 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami, 33137.
