Alicia H. Torres To Participate at II Edition IBAEM 2013

From Thursday June 6th to 14th, 2013 at the Miami Iron Side, Colombian artist Alicia H. Torres will be taking part in the second edition of the International Biennale Artists Exhibition Miami, IBAEM 2013, an artistic event showcasing 76 artists from 19 countries produced by The Art Marketing Mind, LLC., and endorsed by the  City of Miami.

"In this abstract, spatial, mysterious shape that I obsessively repeat and which has multiple viewpoints, it also contains my personal search and message. It is a link of man to the cosmos, from the orbits of the planets to past religions, psychological and natural changes to auras and rebirth of a new life.

They are  like biomorphic figures, abstract forms, nature, plants roots, striking lights, hairs, floating in the air, water, sky or earth; I can see them like a dreamlike that with rhythm accompanies life; and indeed, the initial structure of this image shaped as an egg form, is the beginning of life. It takes me to meet the physical and the invisible as well.

I had the need to start a narrative that will explain and connect the artwork to our primitive beginnings and to our actual presence in this universe.

Each image explores how art and life reflect each other and serve as a creation to celebrate and enhance the world.

Then, questions are asked such as, Who we are? Where do we come from? Where are we going? and an answer is required from each one of us.

Life itself is an art piece in which artists, poets and musicians may be seem  as visionaries, but we do have a specific and distinct role to play in this cosmic world. With layers of paint and texture, these artworks become a meaning to discover the known and unknown in this wide universe but also to reflect my doubts, emotions and feelings."
