Benoit Pailley, Morpholight Series, 2013

This coming Thursday May 9th, 2013 at 8PM, French photographer Benoit Pailley will be participating in the first U.S. edition of the Paris-based art fair Cutlog (May 9-13), the innovative and pioneering art fair dedicated to promoting international emergent artists.

Living and working between New York and Paris, Pailley, 35, has been successfully exhibiting his still life & photography in which perfectly arranged objects light up the setting creating stunning installations in themselves.

In only four years after his first solo show in Geneva at the Flux Foundation in 2008, Pailley has been consistent creating photography and video works complementing an aesthetic quality for site-specific shows such as the “Swimming Blue,” a personal project exhibited in Italy in 2009 at the Furini Arte Contemporanea and the projection of his “Swimming Blue” video at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.

In his new personal project series entitled “Morpholight,” Pailley arranges three-dimensional Sol Lewitt-like compositions creating a minimalistic almost black & white installation using glass and mirrors that render geometric shadows and architectural reflections.
